Space Transportation System Intern

Taiwan Space Agency (TASA)

200 kg-to-LEO launch vehicle. Propellant feed system, thrust chamber assembly, and injector design.

Organization Description

Taiwan Space Agency, formerly the National Space Organization from 1991 to 2023, is the national civilian space agency of Taiwan, under the auspices of the National Science and Technology Council. TASA is involved in the development of space technologies and related research. The 200 kg-to-LEO launch vehicle program is TASA's effort to build domestic orbital launch capability for satellites and the strategic move reduce external reliance on launch services and to establish an independent path to place compact payloads into low Earth orbit.

Research Center

Advanced Rocket Research Center (ARRC)

Hybrid and liquid rocket engines. Regression-rate characterization, cooling, and hypergolics.

Organization Description

The Advanced Rocket Research Center (ARRC) is a Taiwan-based rocket research organization founded in 2012 by Dr. Jong-Shinn Wu who later became the Director General of the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA). Known for the world’s first successful tethered hovering flight of a hybrid rocket through HTTP-3AT, ARRC has continued advancing Taiwan’s indigenous rocket development across propulsion, avionics, flight control, ground systems, and launch operations, including expanding work into liquid propulsion. In my time at ARRC, I have worked on a range of projects including regression rate characterization for high regression rate fuels, to now regenerative and film cooling for liquids, and hypergolic-related development.

05 / Quick bio

A little about me.

I grew up in Taiwan for the first seven years of my life and spent the rest of my childhood in Bangladesh. One thing led to another, and I somehow ended up happiest around rocket engines and leading ambitious teams trying to make difficult things possible.

01

Currently

(Soon-to-be) 3rd year at Georgia Tech studying aerospace engineering.

Do you believe in aliens?

Yes, it would be foolish not to with how big the universe is.

Along the way.

I am very lucky to have made it this far and I know none of it would have been possible without the people who supported me along the way. To start, I wouldn't be here today without the support of my parents who have supported me through thick and thin even though they are always scared of the risks involved and worry that I might blow myself up.

And next, the entire ARRC organization, all my seniors, and especially Dr. Wei Shih-Sin 魏世昕 and Dr. Wu Jong-Shinn 吳宗信 who are the only reason I ever got any real experience in rocketry. To all my seniors who trusted me with responsibilities, treated me as someone more than my age, and gave me the space to follow my dreams, the biggest and most heartfelt thank yous to you all too! I always tell people that I would not be here without ARRC today and there might just be nothing more true than that.

And how could I forget the few individuals who are just as insane to be a part of my crazy journey. The teams that I have formed have brought me not only some of my closest friends but also the privilege of working with people who are extremely determined and persevering, and who I have no doubt will succeed greatly in the future.

07 / Since you've made it this far...

Why not reach out?

I love all things rockets and aero. Let me know how I can be of help.
